Police arrested a 48-year-old woman in Dagupan City, Pangasinan over multiple estafa charges, authorities said.
Officers from the Philippine National Police served two warrants of arrest against the suspect in Barangay Lucao. The woman faces cases of estafa under the Revised Penal Code and another case linked to falsification of public documents.
Police said one of the warrants was issued for estafa under Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code. Authorities also found that the suspect had another pending warrant in Urdaneta City.
Vladimer Custer Austria, commander of the Dagupan City Police Station 4, said.
The suspect denied the accusations and said other individuals may have used her name in illegal transactions.
The woman later posted bail worth P54,000 for her temporary release. She said she plans to contest the charges filed against her in court.
