Anti-illegal drug operatives arrested two men and seized suspected shabu worth nearly P21 million in a sting operation in Barangay Maladig, Picong, Lanao del Sur on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Police identified the suspects as alias “Ben,” 55, and alias “Abag,” 46, both businessmen from Cavite and Maguindanao del Norte, respectively.

During the buy-bust operation, authorities seized around 3,054 grams of suspected shabu worth more than P20.7 million, mobile phones, IDs, and the vehicle used by the suspects.

Police said the operation was carried out after several weeks of intelligence monitoring.

“Tuloy-tuloy ang ating operasyon laban sa illegal drugs. Hindi natin hahayaang makalusot ang mga sindikatong sumisira sa kinabukasan ng ating mga kababayan,” Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., said.

The suspects are now detained and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).

“Operations like this show what disciplined police work and solid coordination can achieve. We will continue to pursue high-value individuals and dismantle the networks behind them,” Nartatez added.
