An alleged communist rebel wanted for the killing of a former barangay chairman in Sugbongcogon, Misamis Oriental was arrested in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested the suspect identified as alias “Arman,” 38, by virtue of a warrant for murder issued by a court in Misamis Oriental on January 12, 2026.

CIDG said the suspect is allegedly a member of the Squad 1, Sub-Regional Committee, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee of the New People’s Army (NPA).

The suspect was tagged as the number one most wanted person of Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10).

Authorities said the suspect, together with six co-accused, who are also NPA members, allegedly shot to death a former barangay chairman in Sugbongcogon on August 12, 2025.
