A 40-year-old woman was stabbed to death multiple times by her own husband inside a school in Alabel, Sarangani on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

The suspect, a caretaker at Alegria Central Elementary School in Barangay Alegria, reportedly attacked his wife in front of their 15-year-old son, who had accompanied her to help hang laundry.

According to the boy, his mother noticed some clothes missing and turned around to find her husband holding a knife. The suspect then stabbed the victim before fleeing the area.

The boy ran to seek help and returned to find his mother already lifeless.

Si mama namatay na didto,” the victim’s son said.

It was learned that the victim had a history of domestic violence, which was why she stayed at the school temporarily with her three children for protection.

Authorities are looking into jealousy as possible motive.

Police are pursuing the suspect, as of this writing, who will likely face parricide charges.

As of now, at large pa ang suspek,” Alabel Municipal Police Station Chief, Lt. Col. Benjie Ancheta, said.

According to the school administration, no one saw how the suspect entered the school. The school has already tightened security measures following the incident.

“Nakig-coordinate na mi sa barangay at the same time sa pulis tapos naghimo kame karon og incident report para i-submit pud namu sa chief head,” school principal, Tito Maslog, said.
