Gasoline stations in Bacolod City are complying with the price guide from the Department of Energy (DOE) issued amid the hike in the prices of fuel due to the crisis in the Middle East.
Together with the local government unit, the Bacolod City Police and Price Monitoring visited the 164 gas stations in the city and found the gas stations compliant.
But one gas station caught the attention of police after it posted a P100 per liter price of gasoline. The sign was corrected, eventually.
“Ang gasoline niya, nag-P100 na. Nang pinuntahan ng police, kinuhanan ng picture, ibinalik na ang P75,” said Col. Eugene Rebadomia, OIC Director of the Bacolod City Police Office.
The police said what happened was miscommunication on the part of the gas station.
BUSINESS PERMIT
Meanwhile, during inspection, authorities found that 113 gasoline stations in Bacolod City are yet to comply with requirements for a business permit.
Mayor Greg Gasataya said the stations have until the end of March to process the permit.
“Mayroong nag-apply, 134 gas stations. Of the 134, ang na-issue-han ng (business permits is 51). They have until the end of the month na mag-process,” the mayor said.
