Authorities in Apalit seized in an operation around P382 million worth of materials used to make illegal cigarettes.

The Bureau of Customs raided a warehouse in Barangay Balucuc and found tax stamps with identical serial numbers, large volumes of packaging materials, and tipping paper rolls used commonly in cigarette production.

Records from the agency show that from January to February 2026, the Bureau of Customs conducted 110 seizure operations worth over P1.9 billion, a significant increase from the same period in 2025 when only 21 operations valued at P75.5 million were recorded.
