A woman landed in jail while her female victim had to be given medical attention after fainting during what police suspect was a “salisi” modus in Cadiz City.

The female suspect, identified only as alias Janet, was among three suspects who allegedly stole the bag of a vendor at the city market.

She was allegedly the one who diverted the victim’s attention by using coins to pay for the dried fish she purportedly wanted to buy.

While the vendor was counting the coins, the female suspect’s companions got the opportunity to steal the vendor’s bag.

Daleen Grace Loreno, deputy chief of the Cadiz City Police Station.

Later, when she realized her bag had been stolen, the vendor fainted and had to attended to by medical personnel in an ambulance.

Her bag contained P3,000 cash and jewelry worth P600,000.

Unfortunately for the female suspect, the vendor’s husband ran after her and caught up with her.

She is facing theft charges.

She told police she was only invited to Cadiz City by people from Manila but the police were not convinced.
