A 22-year-old man was arrested for alleged online child exploitation in Iligan City.
Operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit-Northern Mindanao and Iligan City Police Office arrested the suspect after serving a warrant to search, seized, and examine computer data in Barangay Tubod.
Police said the warrant was issued by a court in Iligan City for violations of Republic Act 11930 or the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act (CSAEM).
During the operation, the authorities seized several electronic devices and digital storage materials believed to be linked to the crime. They also confirmed the presence of multiple child sexual abuse or exploitation materials, based on on-site digital forensic examination.
The suspect was detained after undergoing inquest proceedings.
“Our cybercrime investigators are continuously strengthening their capabilities to detect and stop these activities.
