The remains of a Filipina caregiver who died during an attack in Israel have returned to the Philippines and were brought home to Pangasinan.

The body of Mary Ann Velasquez De Vera arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport early morning on Saturday, where her relatives received her.

Her husband, who also works as an overseas Filipino worker in Israel, returned to the Philippines as well.

Both the Israeli and Philippine governments assured the family that they will continue to provide assistance following her death.

De Vera died on February 28 while helping her employer reach a bomb shelter during the attack in Israel.

Her wake began on Saturday at the family’s home in Basista.

Meanwhile, Dana Kursh visited Basista on Monday, March 16, and met with local officials and representatives of several government agencies.

Kursh, together with Ramon Guico III, also went to the family’s home to personally offer condolences and express support for the bereaved family.
