The price of fish at a public market in Davao City has gone up by P10 to P70.

According to a report by GMA Super Radyo, the price of matambaka at the Bankerohan Public Market has climbed to P340 per kilo from P290 to P300 last week.

The price of moro-moro also went up to P320 per kilo from P250 per kilo, while galunggong rose to P310 per kilo from P300.

Tulingan is now being sold at P170 per kilo from P150.

Vendors said the price increase is due to strong winds that affected fishing activities.

They added that the recent oil price increases have not had an impact yet on fish prices.

However, some fishermen in the Davao region warned earlier that continued rise in fuel prices could eventually affect their operations.

Meanwhile, prices of other fish varieties such as barilis, bangus, and tilapia remain stable.
