A man who was driving a motorcycle figured in an accident in Barangay Tacas, Jaro, Iloilo, which led to his death.
Based on investigation by the Jaro Traffic Enforcement Unit, the victim, identified as alias “Steph,” was riding his motorcycle behind a truck morning on March 17, 2026.
When both vehicles reached C-1 Road in Barangay Tacas, the victim reportedly tried to overtake the truck but lost balance. The motorcycle fell to the ground and, unfortunately, a cargo truck behind ran over the victim, hitting him in the head.
“Natumba siya sa kanyang left side and then sadly may sumusunod na cargo truck, kaya nagulungan ang kanyang ulo. Ang tama ng truck which is sa likurang bahagi, sa likurang gulong sa right side. Kun ikaw yung driver, wala kang visual na maiwasan mo pa,” said Pat. Mark Anthony Amogod, investigator at the JRO-TEU.
The victim was wearing a helmet but investigators believe it could have been removed when the victim’s motorcycle fell, bringing him along with it to the ground.
The back portion of the victim’s motorcycle was damaged.
The victim’s family is yet to decide whether or not they will file charges.
