Anti-illegal drug operatives arrested two men and seized suspected shabu worth more than P20 million in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

The suspects were identified as alias “Bossing,” 23, and alias “Jun-jun,” 25, both residents of Calaanan, Barangay Canitoan.

According to the Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10), Bossing allegedly served as a distributor of illegal drugs within the city.

Police said the items were allegedly sourced from Marawi City and delivered through a “dead drop” scheme, where the items are concealed in a specific, pre-arranged location for the buyer to retrieve without direct contact with the seller.

During the operation, authorities confiscated around three kilos of suspected shabu worth around P20.4 million.

The suspects are now detained and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).

“The recent ₱20 million drug haul is proof that illegal drugs continue to threaten our communities. But this success is not just about police operations—it is also about the cooperation of the public,” PRO-10 Director, Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano, said.

“We call on everyone: if you see something, say something. Report any suspicious drug activities in your area. Your vigilance can save lives, protect families, and help us stop the spread of illegal drugs,” Abrahano added.
