Two people died and another was injured critically when a tricycle collided with a motorcycle on the national highway in Barangay Bari, Mangaldan, Pangasinan, early Thursday, March 19, 2026, authorities said.

CCTV footage captured the motorcycle crossing into the opposite lane before hitting the oncoming tricycle.

“Sinawing palad around 3 a.m. kasi namatay ‘yung pasahero tapos injured talaga yung dalawang driver pero kaninang umaga patay na rin ‘yung isa. Bale dalawa ang namatay dito,” PltCol. Perlito Tuayon, chief of Mangaldan Police Station, said.

CCTV footage showed the motorcycle speeding and veering into the opposite lane, hitting the tricycle with enough force that both the motorcycle and its driver ended up inside the tricycle’s sidecar. The tricycle driver is in critical condition.

Authorities said there has been no discussion yet between the families of the victims.

GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon is trying to reach the relatives for comment, as of press time.

Tuayon reminded motorists to drive carefully.

“Magdoble ingat po tayo, ‘yung mga kawatan natin dapat kondisyon pati mga sasakyan, kung nakainom huwag na mag drive,” he said.
