Power rates in areas served by the Davao Light and Power Company (Davao Light) have increased by 33 centavos per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for March 2026.

According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, Davao Light said the new rate is now at P10.63 per kWh, higher than the P10.30 per kWh recorded last month.

Davao Light said the increase is attributed to higher prices at the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).

However, the power distributor clarified that WESM is only one of its sources of power supply.

The rate adjustment will be reflected in the March 12 to April 11 billing.

Consumers are urged to remain mindful of their electricity consumption and practice energy conservation.

Meanwhile, the Davao Oriental Electric Cooperative (DORECO) has earlier announced a power rate hike for March due to increase in generation and transmission charges.
