Anti-narcotics agents arrested a public school principal in a buy-bust operation in Tagbina, Surigao del Sur.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Caraga (PDEA-13) identified the suspect as a 45-year-old principal of a public school in the town.

PDEA-13 said the suspect had been subjected to extensive verification and surveillance operations by different law enforcement agencies to confirm his alleged involvement in illegal drug activities.

The operation was carried out after sufficient intelligence and monitoring were established.

Seized during the operation were sachets of suspects shabu worth around P6,800.

PDEA-13 said the involvement of an individual holding a key position in the education sector undermines public trust and raises serious concerns about the moral guidance expected from educators.

“This development highlights the importance of vigilance and accountability in public service. Positions of authority must never be used to undermine the law or endanger the community,” PDEA-13 Director, Laurefel Gabales, said.

The suspect is detained and will face charges for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).
