A 52-year-old man who authorities considered as a national fugitive was arrested in Barangay Tubod, Iligan City.

According to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), the suspect identified as alias “Ricky” was arrested by virtue of two warrants for murder issued by the courts in Zamboanga del Sur and Iligan City on May 19, 2021, and October 10, 2025, respectively.

CIDG said the suspect, a resident of Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur, was listed as the most wanted person in the Philippines with P140,000 as reward for his arrest.

The suspect was also tagged as the number one most wanted person in Lanao del Norte.

Authorities said the suspect and his co-accused allegedly killed a man in a shooting incident in Mahayag town on May 10, 2017. On November 28, 2021, the suspect also shot another man dead in Iligan City.

“The arrest underscores the Unit’s relentlessness in pursuing and capturing fugitives and its stresses its commitment in helping all victims and their attain the justice they deserve,” CIDG said.
