A Grade 12 student was injured after he was hit by a motorcycle while crossing a pedestrian lane in Cotabato City on Monday, March 23, 2026.

CCTV footage showed two boys crossing the pedestrian lane at past 10 a.m. outside a school. One of them was hit by a motorcycle, causing him to be thrown by the impact.

The boy was able to stand and speak briefly with the rider, who sped away subsequently from the area.

After the video of the incident circulated on social media, the rider surrendered to authorities on Tuesday, March 24, to seek a possible settlement with the victim and his family.

Police said the motorcycle may have been running at high speed at that time, and the rider may have failed to notice the pedestrians crossing.

Authorities reminded motorists to slow down and exercise caution, especially when approaching pedestrian lanes.

Rochelle Evangelista, said.

Police also urged victims of similar incidents to report to the police immediately for proper investigation.
