A delivery rider in Cebu City who was just starting his day died after two motorcycles hit him on the road. 

The incident happened at past 3 a.m. on March 23, 2026 at the corner of Gorordo Avenue and J. Solon Drive in Barangay Lahug.

Footage from closed circuit television (CCTV) camera showed a motorcycle counterflowing and ramming into the motorcycle ridden by the delivery rider.

The impact threw the delivery rider off his vehicle and to the pavement. It was at this point that another motorcycle hit him.

The driver of the second motorcycle, a 16-year-old minor, fled the scene but surrendered eventually.

The driver of the motorcycle that hit the victim first was brought to the hospital but has been discharged. He is facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.

He tested negative in the liquor test.

The Cebu City Police Office made it clear that contrary to initial reports, there was no race that took place in the area and that the suspects were simply driving fast.
