Catholics are urged to take the time to participate in church activities this Holy Week to enrich their faith, especially those who may have spent time away from the Church.
These may include religious retreats, talks, and even going on confession.
“Try natin mag-join sa retreats, makinig sa mga talks. Mag-avail ng sacrament of reconciliation kasi baka matagal na tayong hindi nakakumpisa, at maramdaman natin ang pagmamahal ng Diyos,” said Rev. Fr. Angelo Colada, Director of the Commission on Social Communications of the Archdiocese of Jaro.
The Holy Week falls on the first week of March and the Archdiocese of Jaro, like other dioceses in the Philippines, have prepared its activities for every parish.
From March 30 to Holy Wednesday on April 1, devotees can attend Mass from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
They can also avail of the Sacrament of Reconciliation or Confession in the morning and in the afternoon.
On Good Friday, the traditional Siete Palabras or the Seven Last Words of Christ will be reenacted from 12 noon until 3 p.m.
Up to 1,455 policemen will be deployed across Western Visayas to ensure a peaceful and orderly observance of the Holy Week.
