A 35-year-old farmer was killed while his mother was injured after they were shot in Barangay Tamugan, Marilog District, Davao City evening on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, police said while the victims were on their way home, two men appeared suddenly and shot them upon reaching Sitio Biñan.

The farmer sustained gunshot wounds in the forehead and right knee. He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

His mother, on the other hand, sustained gunshot wounds in the stomach and right leg. She is in stable condition, as of this writing.

The gunman was arrested during hot pursuit after he was identified positively by the mother.

Authorities are pursuing the other suspect.

Recovered from the crime scene were empty shells believed to be from a caliber 9mm pistol.

Investigators are eyeing land dispute as motive.
