The Royal Sultanate of Lanao, composed of 16 royal houses, has expressed their support for President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
Sultan Monadto Mangadang was officially sworn in as chairman of the 16 Royal Houses of Lanao during the induction of officers attended by several sultans and traditional leaders of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
During the activity, Mangadang said maintaining peace in their communities remains a top priority.
The sultanate is active in some development or settling ridos of our community,” Mangadang said.
At the recent gathering of sultans in Lanao del Sur on Saturday, March 28, 2026, the 16 royal houses presented a manifesto of support for Marcos, citing the government’s efforts to address the country’s crises, including the energy shortage.
“Mindanao leaders especially the sultanate we really believe on the president how he delivers his services to the people,” Mangadang said.
The traditional leaders also welcomed the signing of the law resetting the first parliamentary elections to September 2026, after Marcos signed Republic Act 12317.
They said it is now time to give a clear mandate to the leaders of the Bangsamoro government.
"This will be the beginning, the start of the Bangsamoro. As we know that the BTA is only a Bangsamoro transition authority until now wala pa rin silang mandate. It’s really an opportunity for BARMM to conduct and select among leaders to be elected,” Sultan Kudarat former Governor Suharto Mangudadato, said.
