Three minors died after the motorcycle they were riding rammed into a bus head on in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
The victims were on their way to buy food when they met the accident.
Investigation showed that when they reached Barangay Burgos, the victims reportedly overtook the motorcycle they were following. However, they failed to return immediately to their lane and collided with the bus coming from the opposite direction.
Daleen Grace Loreno, Deputy Chief of the Cadiz City Police Station.
Police are also looking into allegations that the victims were intoxicated at the time of the accident.
“According to witnesses, uminom sila sa pinanggalingan nila. However, dini-deny rin ng mga magulang,” Loreno said.
According to Jade Marquez, spokesperson of the bus company, their driver stands by his statement that he was traveling on the proper lane.
The company is willing to provide assistance to the victims.
The police have released the driver of the bus from custody.
