A farmer was found dead with his throat slit inside a farmhouse in Barangay Katangawan, General Santos morning on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
Authorities identified the victim as a stay-in worker tasked with fish farming. The suspect was the victim’s co-worker.
Based on investigation, the victim’s son found his father lifeless with a fatal wound in the neck.
Police said the victim and the suspect were drinking prior to the incident. The victim’s son reportedly saw the two together at 1 a.m., but by early morning, the victim was already dead.
“Nag-inom-inom ata sila diri sir, tapos wala nagsinabtanay mao nahimo to sa suspek ang paggulgul,” a victim’s relative said.
Authorities believe a misunderstanding between the two may have escalated into violence.
Murag kana ang pagsabot,” Police Station 8 Commander, Major Robert Fores, said.
The farm owner refused to comment.
