Five more flights per day have been added at the Iloilo International Airport with the anticipated influx of passengers for the Holy Week break.

From 30 flights per day, the airport now caters to 35 flights.

“In fact, may mga fillers sa office na just in case marami ang influx, meron silang i-ano (standby) na eroplano to ensure na merong masakyan ang ating mga pasahero,” said Arthur Parreño, spokesperson of CAAP-Iloilo on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Since March 28, the number of passengers  arriving at the airport has reached up to 13,000.

Authorities also anticipate more passengers at bus terminals in Iloilo City and in Bacolod City in Negros Island Region.

Among those who traveled earlier is Rocky who was headed for Cebu.

“Mas mabuti po na maaga para po hindi kayo abutan ng maraming pasahero. Para sa akin naman po maraming pasahero, mahirapan ka sa pagbyahe,” he said.

Ma. Fe Japit, a senior citizen, said they decided to go home to Isabela where she would continue her tradition of praying during the Holy Week.

The management of the bus terminal in Bacolod City said regular schedule of trips will continue during the Holy Week amid the soaring prices of fuel.
