A part-time worker at a sari-sari store in Talisay City, Cebu who complained of his small pay stole the store’s earnings amounting to P157,000.

According to the Talisay City Police, the suspect stole the money when the store’s 72-year-old owner went for a drink with friends.

When the owner returned at past midnight on April 1, 2026, he discovered that the store’s lock had already been destroyed and the P157,000 earnings have gone missing.

The suspect also worked as a driver at a construction company near the store.

Authorities caught up with the suspect at the construction company and recovered from him the money he stole from the store.

The suspect is facing charges.
