A 12-year-old boy died after he was hit by a wing van truck while walking by the road in Malungon, Sarangani on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
According to the Malungon Municipal Police Station, the 26-year-old truck driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while traveling downhill and navigating a curve.
The vehicle, which was loaded with apples, veered to the left, hit the steel railings, and hit the boy.
The boy was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The driver was taken into police custody.
