A man accused of slashing a farmer’s neck to death in General Santos City was arrested during a hot pursuit operation in Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental on April 2, 2026.

Police said the suspect immediately fled the farm where he and the victim worked in Barangay Katangawan, General Santos City after the incident.

The victim was found dead with his throat slit inside a farmhouse on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Authorities identified the victim as a stay-in worker tasked with fish farming.

Based on investigation, it was the victim’s son who found the victim lifeless.

Police said the victim and the suspect were drinking prior to the incident.

The victim’s son reportedly saw the two together at 1 a.m., but by early morning, the victim was already dead.

Authorities believe a misunderstanding between the two may have escalated into violence.
