The body of a seven-year-old boy who drowned while swimming at a river in Barangay Balulang on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, was found the next day.
According to reports, the boy was with his mother, relatives, and neighbors to celebrate Easter Sunday. However, his mother left the area briefly to get something from their house nearby.
She returned to the news that her son had gone missing.
The family immediately sought help from the city government’s Oro Rescue Team and Philippine Coast Guard, which then conducted a search and rescue operation.
The body of the boy was found around 11 a.m. on Monday, April 6, floating underneath the Ysalina Bridge.
The boy’s remains were turned over to the family for proper burial.
