Water demand has started to go up in Mangaldan, Pangasinan as the dry season sets in, but local officials said supply remains enough to meet consumption.
Data from the Mangaldan Water District (MAWAD) showed that average monthly water consumption has reached more than 400,000 cubic meters. Despite the increase, available supply is close to 700,000 cubic meters per month.
The agency said its system is fully operational.
“Operational naman ang lahat ng pumping stations natin at saka interconnected lahat ng pipelines natin,” MAWAD spokesperson Demmie Carbonel said.
Joanne Resuello, a resident, said water remains essential, especially during the hot season when more people stay at home.
“Importante ang tubig ngayon, sobra. Lalo pa nasa bahay lahat ng mga bata, kailangan ang tubig,” she said.
While supply is stable, MAWAD urged the public to use water responsibly to avoid shortages.
Officials advised residents to conserve water and regularly check household pipes to prevent leaks that could lead to higher consumption.
