Two alleged former female rebels wanted for human trafficking and murder were arrested in Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Norte.

According to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), the two were arrested by virtue of warrants for human trafficking, murder, and multiple attempted murder issued by the courts in the two provinces on November 24, 2021 and October 13, 2022 respectively.

CIDG identified the suspects as alias “Lennie,” accused of human trafficking in Surigao del Norte, and alias “Anne,” accused of murder and multiple attempted murder in Agusan del Norte.

The two were alleged former members of the Sandatahang Yunit Pampropaganda, Guerilla Front 16, and Sub-Regional Sentro de Grabidad under the Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NEMRC) of the New People’s Army (NPA).

CIDG said Anne was tagged as the number two most wanted person in the region while Lennie was tagged as the number three most wanted person in Surigao del Norte.

“The operation demonstrates the Units’ steadfast commitment to ensuring justice for victims, and bolstering the government’s relentless campaign against terrorism,” CIDG said.
