A 47-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was riding rammed in to a van in Barangay Manipis, Tanjay City in Negros Oriental.
He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
A report by GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak says that based on police investigation, the victim was heading home when another motorcycle that was traveling in his direction reportedly turned suddenly at an intersection.
The victim tried to avoid the other motorcycle but he encroached the opposite lane and collided with the oncoming van.
The impact threw the driver off the motorcycle unto the pavement.
Investigation showed that the victim was not wearing a helmet and did not have a driver’s license.
The driver of the van said he tried to stop his vehicle to avoid the collision to no avail.
