An alleged leader and two other members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were killed in a firefight in T’boli, South Cotabato on Thursday, April 9, 2026.

The 6th Infantry Division (6ID) identified the fatalities as alias “Magaw,” secretary of the NPA’s Far South Mindanao Region (FSMR), and two members alias “Mutya” and alias “Roxanne.”

603rd Infantry Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Michael Santos, said Magaw is facing various charges for multiple attempted homicide, murder, and attempted murder.

The military also recovered four M16 rifles, and an R4 rifle at the clash site during the clearing operations.

Santos also said that the previous secretaries of FSMR identified as alias “Bobo,” alias “Raffy,” and alias “Ruby” were neutralized by the military in December 2022 and June 2025.

6ID Commander, Major General Jose Vladimir Cagara, lauded the operating troops for demonstrating the true spirit of sacrifice and bravery through their dedication to protect communities against violence.
