A Malaysian national and his companion were arrested with suspected shabu worth around P3.4 million in Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi.

Police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-BARMM) arrested the suspects during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Suwang Pukol on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

The foreigner was identified as alias “Utto,” 45, and his companion as alias “Nil,” 45.

Seized from the suspects were sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 500 grams, a pistol, an M1 Garand rifle with ammunition, and personal belongings.

Authorities are still investigating the suspects’ alleged involvement in illegal drug trade.

The suspects are now detained and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).
