Up to 9,000 tricycle drivers in Bacolod City are qualified to receive the P5,000 fuel subsidy from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

However, about 200 tricycle drivers in Barangay Banago complained why they are not in the list despite having submitted all requirements.

“Iyan ang tanong namin. Sabi ng barangay, maghintay lang raw,” said Jonathan Aguirre, a driver.

“Panawagan ko na sana lahat matanggap,” said another driver, Reynaldo Ponteras.

According to Arnel Benjamin, captain of Barangay Banago, said only five of the 233 names of drivers they submitted online were acknowledged.

“Pag-7 p.m., pinasa iyon online. May confirmation kami na na-receive nila ang 233. Petsa 7, naka-receive ang secretary na lima lang,” Benjamin said.

The Bacolod City Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) said the names of about 600 drivers were removed from the list due a possible problem in the online system.

“Nakasama na sila sa waiting list. Kasama na sila sa appeal natin. May mga inconsistencies sa data,” said Dr. Richelle Mangga, head of DSSD.
