A 37-year-old man surrendered after he allegedly shot a 41-year-old glass installer in Barangay Calinan, Davao City.

According to the Davao City Police Office, the victim identified as alias “Rodin” sustained multiple gunshot wounds after he was shot at close range at a glass supply establishment late afternoon on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

Police said despite the attack, the victim managed to evade further harm and was immediately rushed to a hospital. He is now in stable condition, as of this writing.

During hot pursuit, authorities tracked the suspect in Barangay Sirib, where he surrendered voluntarily.

Based on investigation, the incident may have stemmed from a long-standing personal dispute between the victim and the suspect over a right-of-way issue, which escalated into threats, intimidation, and harassment.

Authorities also confiscated a caliber .45 pistol believed to have been used in the crime.

Police said the motorcycle used by the suspect was also traced and confirmed to have been rented from an acquaintance.

The suspect may face charges for frustrated murder and violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (RA 10591).
