At least eight families were displaced after a fire razed their houses to the ground in Barangay Fatima, General Santos City on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

The fire broke out at past 6 p.m. and was put out after nearly an hour.

However, some residents were injured during the incident, including a 21-year-old man who suffered a foot injury after stepping on a sharp object and another resident, Aldrin Boloanun, who also sustained a foot injury.

Bulanon said he had just come from the restroom when the fire suddenly broke out and spread quickly.

He also noticed that the fire had started from his sibling’s house.

“Pagsulod naku kusog na  kaayo kalit. Naay nibuto ba mao tung gipasagdan na naku sigi na lang mi singgit kay dili na makaya,” Bolanun said.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is still investigating the cause of the fire.
