A 12-year-old boy drowned while swimming in a river in Kabuntalan, Maguindanao del Norte.
The boy’s body was found floating in the Tamontaka River during a search and retrieval operation in Barangay Lower Taviran on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), the boy and his companions were swimming when he suddenly disappeared and failed to resurface.
His family sought assistance from authorities to locate him. PDRRMO added that the boy may have suffered a seizure while swimming as he had a history of epilepsy, according to his family.
