Authorities in the Philippines continue a coordinated response as Mayon Volcano stays under Alert Level 3, with tens of thousands of residents affected and thousands already evacuated, disaster officials said.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD), as the implementing arm of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, said early evacuation measures were enforced in coordination with local government units.
Communities within the 6-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone were moved out ahead of increased volcanic activity.
Latest data from OCD Region V showed 30,522 families, or 102,406 people, affected across 87 villages. Of these, 1,438 families or 5,440 people are currently staying in evacuation centers, while 26 families or 85 people are being assisted outside shelters.
Local and national agencies continue to provide food, water, and other basic needs to evacuees, officials said.
Response teams have deployed water trucks, installed water filtration systems, and distributed essential items such as N95 masks and blankets. Road clearing operations are also ongoing to keep access routes open.
Authorities said they are closely monitoring the situation and maintaining preparedness measures in case conditions worsen.
The public has been urged to follow safety instructions and strictly observe the 6-kilometer danger zone around the volcano.
