Authorities have confiscated several illegal gambling machines known locally as “tolilong” during a surprise inspection in Cagayan de Oro City.
Members of the Cagayan de Oro City Regulatory Compliance Board (RCB) raided several houses after receiving information about the presence of the illegal machines.
Authorities said the illegal machines have raised concern as even minors were reportedly able to access and use them.
Police are investigating the personalities behind the distribution of the illegal machines in the city.
Edgardo Uy, said.
Meanwhile, the operation also led to the issuance of Ordinance Violation Receipts (OVRs) to at least six individuals who were caught drinking by the road in Barangay Indahag.
Uy added that stricter enforcement is being carried out under the directive of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Likayan gyud nato aron dili ta ma-isyuhan og OVR,” Uy added.
