The Department of Energy-Northern Mindanao (DOE-10) has ordered at least three gasoline stations in Cagayan de Oro City to explain why they were allegedly selling overpriced petroleum products.
According to the City Price Coordinating Council (CPCC), the show cause orders were issued following surprise inspections conducted in March 2026 across several areas in the region.
CPCC said the gasoline stations were found selling fuel products beyond the prescribed prices.
“Ilang gi-analyze ang mga presyo, mao na naay tulo ka show cause order karon nga gipadala ang Department of Energy among i-serve didto sa kaning tulo ka gasoline station para ma-explain nila kung ngano naay violation sa ilang presyo,” CPCC head, Atty. Edgardo Uy, said.
Meanwhile, authorities continue to conduct surprise inspections on gasoline stations, LPG sellers, and other business establishments to ensure compliance with government regulations.
During the inspections, CPCC discovered that some establishments were operating with expired Certificates of Compliance (COC) and licenses to operate.
Of the establishments inspected, 23 were found with expired COCs while three LPG sellers were operating without the required permits.
Uy reminded business owners to follow pricing regulations strictly.
“Mo-comply lang gyud ta sa mga regulations kay labi na sa presyo. Kung unsa man galing ang presyo nga angay ibaligya nato sa mga produkto, mao lang sab atong ibaligya kay tanan man ta naglisod. Atong buhaton gyud nato nga saktong presyo ang atong ibaligya,” Uy added.
