Several tourism-related establishments in Cagayan de Oro City were found to be operating without accreditation from the Department of Tourism (DOT) during surprise inspections.
The City Tourism Office (CTO) conducted inspections of travel and tour operators, resorts, and other tourism enterprises to check compliance with local and national standards.
Members of the CTO’s Standards, Regulation and Training (SRT) led the inspections, ensuring that these establishments meet DOT standards, comply regulatory requirements, and delivery quality service to clients.
“Importante kayo nga ang atong mga Hotel and Accomodations o mga facilities nga mihaom gyud sa standards nga gitagana sa atong Department of Tourism kay para pud convenient, accessible ug plastar para sa atong mga bisita nga muanhi sa dakbayan,” CTO Head, Mark Kenneth Jalapadan, said.
The inspection also covered meeting, incentive, conference, event/exhibition (MICE) venues to ensure readiness for conferences and exhibitions.
The inspection also aims to improve services of tourism enterprises and attract more visitors to the city.
“Well of course it would entice and makadasig pud siya sa mga bisita nga muanhi gyud sa atong dakbayan and ang atong mga bisita base on their experience makare-echo pud sila sa ilang mga kauban from other places to come to Cagayan de Oro,” Jalapadan added.
