Authorities arrested three women, including a Vietnamese national, after raiding a beauty clinic in Angeles City that was allegedly selling unregistered cosmetic and health products.
Operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group carried out the operation on May 7, 2026 along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Balibago.
Police identified one of the suspects as the alleged manager of the beauty clinic, while the two others were employees of the establishment.
Seized during the raid were injectable skincare products, whitening creams, hair treatment products, vitamins, supplements, chemical peeling agents, herbal items, and other medical supplies worth more than P247,000.
Authorities said the products were not registered with the Food and Drug Administration and that the clinic was operating without a license.
“Itong operation po natin nag-start po sa isang informant na itong clinic na ito ay nagtitinda, nagrereseta ng gamot at beauty products na unregistered sa FDA… and itong clinic na ito ay walang license to operate,” Police Major John Lloyd Bawag said.
The CIDG warned that unregistered cosmetic and health products may pose risks to consumers because these have not undergone proper testing and evaluation by the FDA.
Authorities also urged the public to be cautious when buying beauty and health products amid the spread of counterfeit and unregistered items in the market.
The suspects may face charges for alleged violations of the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009.
As of press time, the suspects have yet to issue a statement.
