Police are searching for a group of suspects who broke into a store in Baguio City after CCTV footage captured a man climbing into the establishment through an unlocked window while companions allegedly acted as lookouts.
The incident happened around 3 a.m. at a store in San Carlos Heights, Irisan, according to a police report. Authorities said the case only came to their attention after CCTV footage circulated on social media.
Videos showed a man scaling and entering the store in a manner residents likened to “Spider-Man,” before carrying out the theft inside.
Separate footage also showed three other men outside the establishment who allegedly served as lookouts.
Police said the victim initially chose not to report the incident.
Authorities later identified the alleged intruder as a 19-year-old man who police said had figured previously in theft-related cases in nearby villages.
Investigators said the suspect entered through a window that had reportedly been left unlocked.
Police said the suspects took a plastic container containing around P6,000 in cash and a cash box with approximately P2,000 inside. The emptied cash box was later recovered outside the store.
Authorities are preparing documents for the filing of charges and continue to track down the identified suspect and his alleged accomplices.
Police also reminded the public to secure their homes and businesses.
