A police officer was arrested with suspected shabu worth around P13.6 million during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sta. Maria, Zamboanga City over the weekend.
Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Zamboanga (PDEA9) arrested the suspect identified as alias “Nager,” 45, a resident of Tipo-Tipo, Basilan.
Authorities said the suspect is a police non-commissioned officer.
Seized from the suspect were bags of suspected shabu weighing about two kilos, a firearm, ammunition, and other personal belongings.
The suspect is now detained and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).
Authorities are still investigating the alleged involvement of the suspect in the illegal drug trade.
