A series of robbery incidents in General Santos City pointed to a suspect assuming different identities to carry out the crime.
CCTV footage captured the suspect posing as a plumber and glass installer.
CCTV footage showed a man wearing a bonnet and white shirt entering a cellphone parts and accessories store on Clariza Street in Barangay Dadiangas East on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
According to the store attendant, the suspect pretended to be a glass installer instructed by the owner to get the dimensions of the store.
“Pagkasulud niya diri nangayo siya og pentel pen naghulam. Mga sukat sukat sa samin pero iyang ginapasulat PH, PY, ug nangayo pud siya og 3,800 pesos,” a store attendant said.
Later, the store attendant discovered that her bag containing more than P3,700 in cash was already missing.
The victim realized that her bag was stolen by the suspect when she reviewed the CCTV.
Police said the same suspect reportedly robbed an eatery in Barangay Dadiangas South over the weekend.
CCTV footage showed the suspect turning the CCTV camera away from him.
In another CCTV footage, the suspect was seen entering the kitchen where he allegedly took nearly P2,000 in store earnings.
According to a service crew member, the suspect introduced himself as a sink repairman allegedly sent by the store owner. However, he was reportedly scouting for items he could steal.
