A barangay councilman was shot dead while driving his motorcycle in Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Authorities identified the victim as Barangay Gandiangan councilman Edison Magdamit.
According to the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office, the victim was traversing the road when two motorcycle-riding assailants shot him and fled the area immediately.
Investigators recovered from the crime scene six empty shells from caliber .45 pistol.
Police are still investigating the incident to identify the perpetrators and determine the motive.
