A 19-year-old woman who was missing for three days was found dead at a grassy area in Barangay Poblacion, Alcoy town in southern Cebu.
The body was found in an area where trash gets dumped. It was already in a state of decomposition.
The woman was identified as Jeani Pryll Belardo.
Her family identified her remains positively through her tattoo, shades, and hair tie.
The Alcoy police said it was on May 26, 2026 when Belardo’s live-in partner, a 30-year-old American national, reported to the police that she had been missing for three days.
He reportedly saw her last at their house on Saturday, May 23.
“Ni-report iyang live-in partner nga foreigner nga mao lage na, nawala, three days na wa mobalik ang iyang live-in partner, mao tong worried na sya kay three days na, mao tong nagpa-blotter dire. So kami dire sa police station, so gi-cater namo, amo gi-report as missing person,” said PMajor Jose Nilo Abello, chief of the Alcoy Municipal Police Station.
SUSPECT
Police tracked the tablet Belardo was using and traced it to the neighboring town of Dalaguete.
The victim reportedly sold it to one Anthony Baldogo, a tricycle driver also from Alcoy.
Police arrested him after Belardo’s body was found on May 27.
It turned out that the victim rode Baldogo’s tricycle afternoon on May 23. After he was arrested, Baldogo reportedly admitted killing the victim because she allegedly did not hand over the P150 fare immediately.
Baldogo then brought her body to the grassy area and even pointed authorities to the spot where he hid the bladed weapon he used to stab her.
