A woman in Iligan City accused of offering her 14-year-old sister for online sexual acts was arrested.

Based on investigation, the suspect allegedly solicited potential clients on various social media platforms, and offered them indecent and explicit materials, including pornographic pictures and videos of minors in exchange for money.

During the operation, the victim was rescued and brought to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) for intervention.

Authorities also confiscated several pieces of evidence, including a cellphone.

The suspect is now detained and will face charges for alleged violation of the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse of Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and the Anti-Child Sexual Abuse of Exploitation Materias Act (CSAEM).

The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) said it will continue to pursue individuals who dare to exploit the defenseless children.

“In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, where technology continues to shape everyday life, vulnerable children remain defenseless and are placed among the most exposed and at-risk groups. Their struggles remain hidden at the margins of public awareness, their voices are rarely heard, and their situations are frequently overlooked, as they exist on the periphery of attention in a world that moves too quickly to pause and truly see them,” PAOCC said.
