Tourism activities have been affected after non-stop rains triggered a landslide in Barangay Lamdalak, Lake Sebu, South Cotabato on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

Residents captured on video a hillside collapsing slowly following heavy rains in Sitio Traan.

The soil blocked a creek beneath a bridge, forcing water to overflow onto the road and affecting motorists.

Residents also expressed concern after debris reached homes nearby.

“Ngayon, meron siyang potential threats sa community doon sa baba dahil kung patuloy na lalambot itong lupang bumara doon, posibleng magkaroon ng flash flooding incident,” Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Head, Rolly Doanne Cuenco Aquino, said.

The incident has disrupted tourism activities as authorities restricted access to one of the area’s waterfalls for safety.

While the bridge affected remains passable, access is limited to emergency use, for now.

PDRRMO has coordinated with the local government of Lake Sebu for clearing operations in the area affected by the landslide, which spans almost two hectares.

“Magbibigay tayo ng additional fuel assistance para sa equipment na gagamitin para maisaayos itong lugar na ito sa lalong madaling panahon,” Aquino added.
