A 55-year-old man died after his tricycle crashed into a parked motorcycle and was later run over by a passing truck in Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan, police said.

The accident happened early morning on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in Barangay Maningding when the tricycle driven by the victim hit a motorcycle parked along the roadside. The tricycle then tilted, just as a truck arrived from behind.

Police said the victim was run over during the incident. He was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The truck driver and the driver of the parked motorcycle are now in police custody. Both have yet to issue statements.

Sta. Barbara Police Chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Michael Datuin said investigators are still determining possible liabilities in the incident.

“Nandito po sila sa aming kostudiya at ongoing ang aming investigation at titignan namin kung mayroon silang pagkakasala regarding sa nangyaring aksidente at mag file tayo ng kaso,” he said.

Authorities said charges may be filed depending on the outcome of the investigation.

The victim’s family is yet to release a statement as of press time.
